Demand ICE release ALL the children from its concentration camps ASAP!

Since Trump took office, over 3,800 children have been packed into ICE’s concentration camps, traumatized and subjected to disgusting conditions by uncaring private prison corporations looking to squeeze every last dollar out of the public by neglecting their charges.

Over 1,000 children have been incarcerated longer than the court-set limit of 20 days. “Every single day that a kid is in a place like this, they deteriorate. I’ve seen [them] withdraw. They lose weight; they just get physically worse,” says Javier Hidalgo, legal director at the Texas-based immigration advocacy group RAICES.

These kids are being given mouldy food, undrinkable water, and have nothing to do. Some of them have resorted to playing with rocks. “It’s only a matter of time before we see a child die within Dilley or another facility,” warns Kristin Kumpf, the coordinator for the National Coalition to End Family and Child Detention.

ProPublica reporters spoke with kids incarcerated at the Dilley concentration camp in Texas, and their stories are beyond heartbreaking.

“Being here was my fault… I only wanted to be on vacation like a normal family. I don’t eat well, there is no good education and I miss my best friend julieta and my grandmother and my school I already want to get to my house,” wrote poor nine-year-old Maria, who was on her way to Disneyworld on a valid tourist visa when the goon squad arrested her.

No child should ever have to feel this way. These crimes against humanity need to end, NOW.
