Tell Donald Trump: Get your “election monitors” OUT of blue states!

There are two huge elections coming up on Nov 4th: a governor’s race in New Jersey and the vote on Prop 50 in California, which will give the state legislature the green light to redraw state maps and counteract Trump’s efforts to gerrymander red states and steal the 2026 election. State GOP officials have demanded that the Trump administration deploy “election monitors” in an obvious attempt to meddle in these critical races.

The Department of Justice announced it will be deploying “election monitors to polling sites in Passaic County, New Jersey, and five counties in southern and central California: Los Angeles, Orange, Kern, Riverside and Fresno. The goal, according to the department, is “to ensure transparency, ballot security, and compliance with federal law”.

New Jersey attorney general Matt Platkin said the move was “highly inappropriate” and said the DoJ “has not even attempted to identify a legitimate basis for its actions,” and Rusty Hicks, chair of the California Democratic party, declared that “No amount of election interference by the California Republican party is going to silence the voices of California voters.”
