While it may seem unbelievable, certain members of the media and even the Democratic Party have been floating the idea of President Biden pardoning Donald Trump of his convictions as a way to clear the air and start afresh.
The third-highest ranking Democrat, South Carolina Rep. Jim Clyburn, was asked if Biden should pardon Trump and replied “Yes I do think so…And I think he should pardon all of those people that have been accused and have been targeted so we can clean the slate and have an air of possibilities for the future... If we keep digging up things of the past, I’m not too sure the country would not lose its way."
Tell Biden: DO NOT pardon Trump!
With all respect to Rep. Clyburn, that is absolutely preposterous. Donald Trump has already managed to wriggle his way out of facing accountability for his long, long, long, LONG list of crimes and heinous misdeeds. Pardoning him would be a repudiation of the rule of law and an insult to his many victims.
"For Clyburn to suggest a pardon for such a man is not just misguided; it undermines the very core of our struggle for justice. We are the last line of defense, and should not give a pass to those who have disrespected our communities and values. The shallow call for 'healing' and 'moving on' seems like a cynical act of political expediency,” says Charleston state Rep. Wendell Gilliard. He’s right. Biden CANNOT pardon Trump!
Tell Biden: DON’T pardon Trump!
